Last night's public meeting regarding VA hospital at Grace Episcopal Church on Canal St. quickly dissolved as citizens jumped ship once it became clear that the event would not be an open forum. When the meeting started at around 7:30 there were probably a hundred people in the room but by 8:15 there couldn't have been more than twenty left.
